Paper Drapes

My first ever project was to make dresses out of paper. We were teamed up in pair with people we didn't know so that everybody became more familiar with each other. Each pair got given a particular shape that they had to focus there design on, as you can tell our shape was circles!

We took pictures of our dress throughout the making so that we can see how our dress progressied as we made. We didn't have a plan we just made it up as we went along and luckily it turned out great!
After we had completed our task of making  paper dresses we had to draw them. There was some
examples of past years dress drawing so that we
 could get an idea.
You had to use your imagination in the drawing so i choose to draw it how it looked with a twist, adding an extra small waist on the model and human legs instead of a stand. For extra colour and brightness i did some ink drippings on the side of the page and use magazine cuttings for the models accessories.

Taster Day

On my first taster day session at London roads collage we were set a task by one of the lectures to go to the libary and research information on fashion designers that we had never heard of before! After looking through many fashion magazines and books i finally came across the designer Bill Gibb.
Bill Gibbs designs caught my eye as i found them very interesting and magical to look at. His garments were busy and detailed. When you looked close you could see the amount of work that had gone into his garments. There is a lot of volume used in his garments and details applied to his prints.
